Mrs. Nuran Talu was born on 29 October 1955 in Ankara. She graduated from the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Faculty of Architecture of the Middle East Technical University in 1979 as an honor student. She served the bureaucracy in the Executive and Legislative organs of the state of the Republic of Turkey for close to 25 years. Starting from the Environment Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry, she worked as a specialist and manager at almost all echelons of the central environmental organizations.
After serving for 8 years as a Senior Environmental Bureaucrat in the staff of the Speakership of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), Mrs. Talu retired from TGNA in 2001.
Having served as the President for Ankara of KA-DER (Association for the Support of Women Candidates) between the years 1995 – 1998, Mrs. Nuran Talu believes that development of Turkey will be possible when women take their place in active politics at almost all levels, and has long been working to this end with women’s organizations.
Mrs. Talu obtained her Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree from the Public Administration and Political Science (Urban and Environmental Science) Department of Ankara University. She has three published books titled: “Environmental Politics in TGNA (2004)”, “Environmental Policies in Turkey in the Process of Alignment with the European Union (2006)”, and “EU Environmentalism Alignment Problems in Local Administrations (2009)”, and numerous articles. Mrs. Talu has also been working as a columnist in various press organs and social media.
Starting from the year 1995, Mrs. Nuran Talu concentrated on her political career by focusing on the relationship between her specialized background and the real demands of the public. Between the years 2010 – 2012, she served as the General Administrative Board Member and Deputy Chairwoman of the Democratic Party. Mrs. Talu gained significant experience in election processes as the 4th-Place Candidate Deputy for Sivas of the Democratic Party in the Year 2007 General Parliamentary Elections, and as the 1st-Place Candidate Deputy for İzmir 1st Zone of the Democratic Party in the Year 2011 General Parliamentary Elections.
Mrs. Nuran Talu is currently working intensively for development of policies for combating with environmental problems and climate change and women’s rights at central and local levels in Turkey, making efforts to have these subjects tackled sincerely on the political agenda of Turkey.

Mrs. Talu continues her political journey as a Member of the Republican People’s Party (CHP).
Mrs. Nuran Talu has one daughter.
